My personal philosophy is about being a fitness coach and not just about writing effective programs and teaching exercises to my clients. It is those things of course, but is more often about supporting clients to make small meaningful lifestyle changes that can be sustained going forward into everyday living. For this reason I encourage regular short term goal setting to achieve the long term results and encourage regular activity to support this.
I trained as a personal trainer and, with my competitive experience in roller skating and mountain biking, have found a niche in guiding people along the path to achieving their personal goals. I offer MTB skills and road-riding group workshops and one-on-one lifestyle mentoring sessions, in Christchurch.
I have been delighted to receive two industry awards – namely the “Asics Up & Coming Personal Trainer of the Year” award in 2007 (given by Fitness NZ at the National Conference and Awards event) and The Catch Fitness Best Personal Trainer award in 2009 as part of the Lifestyle & Body Competition 20 Week Challenge in which several of my clients achieved outstanding results.
